I take self-referrals, GP referrals and I welcome trainee counsellors and veterans.

April is stress awareness month. You may be feeling stressed but don’t understand why if there isn’t a specific reason. We all lead busy lives working, family, on our phones or computers, maybe relationship problems or financial problems and you may not make the time to work through the problems or fear facing them or time to take care of ourselves. Many people are not encouraged to think about themselves and take care of themselves they are told it’s being selfish. Counselling sessions can help you to commit to making the time to work through your problems and find out what self-care works for you.

Is the fear of change holding you back?

It is common for the fear of change to keep people stuck. You might know something needs to change but change can be scary. You have got this far with the problems you have so you know how to survive them, "better the devil you know" as they say. The unknown is scary. What I can say is that the unknown might be scary because you lack confidence, have low-self esteem, you don't believe you can cope or have the ability to deal with what life throws at you in the future. I can work with you to build your self-esteem and confidence so that you will feel you can cope with the changes counselling brings which logically you are wanting to improve your life.

Please take a look at my website to see how I can help you. You're welcome to call or email me with for further information with no obligation to book an appointment.

    Free Assessment

This is a 15 minute assessment over the phone to discuss your needs, how I can help you and if we can work together.

I also offer an initial 30 minute face to face session to meet me and assess and discuss your needs for £20. (Please go to my Location and Contact page for fees.

Area of Expertise - Rape and Childhood Sexual Abuse

Many counsellors specialise in a particular field and my area of expertise is working with
survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse. I was a volunteer counsellor for 7 years at RASASC (rape and sexual abuse support centre). I receive referrals from them when people don't want to wait on the waiting list. I have a certificate in working with childhood sexual abuse which meant attending 4 weekends and writing two assignments. Working with survivors of rape and sexual abuse has also meant I have also gained experience in working with other issues such as trauma, depression, low self-esteem and self-harm.

My name is Tracy Pinder and with 10 years of counselling experience I have helped many people to regain control of their lives.

What can my counselling service offer you?

    • A safe environment
    • The opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings in a confidential setting
    • The chance to speak to a professional who isn’t going to judge you
    • Support to find a way to help you cope with your life and stay in control
    • An awareness, insight and understanding of your inner and outer world

Awareness per se- by and of itself-can be curative (Fritz Perls)

At the end of counselling my clients tell me they felt:

    • Listened to
    • Understood
    • An improved sense of self-esteem and self-worth
    • Their relationships had improved
    • More able to cope with difficult emotions such as anger, stress and fear
